Glass Beads are a manufactured glass abrasive made from miniature, translucent spherical beads for controlled surface cleaning and finishing. They are commonly used in blast cabinets where a satin or matte shot peened finish is needed without aggressive surface profiling.

  • Manufactured glass abrasive for cleaning, finishing, and light surface treatment
  • Spherical bead shape helps produce a smooth satin or matte finish
  • Suited for applications where substrate profiling is undesirable
  • Commonly used in hand blast cabinets and reclaim systems
  •  Supplied in 25 kg bags for cabinet blasting and abrasive finishing applications

Description

Glass Beads are a reusable manufactured abrasive used for low impact blasting, surface cleaning, and cosmetic finishing. The spherical bead shape helps reduce aggressive cutting action, making this media suitable when the goal is to clean or finish the surface rather than etch or deeply profile the substrate.

Glass Beads are supplied in 25 kg bags and are commonly used in blast cabinets for removing light contamination, blending surface appearance, and producing a satin or matte shot peened finish. They are especially useful on parts where dimensional change, heavy surface roughening, or sharp abrasive impact is not desirable.face appearance, and producing a satin or matte shot peened finish. They are especially useful on parts where dimensional change, heavy surface roughening, or sharp abrasive impact is not desirable.

This media supports a profile range of approximately 0.25 to 1.0 mil, depending on blast pressure, nozzle distance, substrate condition, and selected grade. With a recyclability rating of 7 out of 10, Glass Beads can be reused in suitable cabinet blasting systems when properly separated from dust and contamination.
